Thank you to all of our families that joined us for conferences. If you were not able to attend, please feel free to reach out to your child’s teacher following the break.
Spring Break
We wish our staff and students a relaxing and enjoyable spring break! We will see you back at school on Monday, March 30th.
Spring Equinox – March 20
The spring equinox is a meaningful time in many Indigenous traditions, including those of the Blackfoot Confederacy (also called Niitsitapi).
Blackfoot teachings emphasize observing and respecting nature. Around spring:
- Animals begin to return or become more active (like bison, birds, and other wildlife)
- Plants start to grow again
- People traditionally prepared for travel, hunting, and gathering
Children can learn to notice:
- Changes in daylight
- Melting snow and flowing water
- Returning birds
To acknowledge spring equinox, what changes do you notice?
Staffing Updates
Our beloved Ms. Grainger is approaching maternity leave! We welcome Ms. Chiu to Grade 4, who will work alongside Ms. Grainger after spring break getting to know students, staff, and classroom routines.
