Poppy Donations
We will be accepting monetary donations for the Poppy fund this year. Any amount is appreciated! The students will receive their poppies to wear on Tuesday for their school ceremony here.
G. W. Skene Remembrance Day Ceremony
We will be holding a Remembrance Day Ceremony on Tuesday, November 10 starting at 10:30 am here in the Gym. All G. W. Skene families are welcome to attend. Doors will open at 10:15 am.

Bell Times
Just a reminder that the morning bell goes at 8:48 AM (doors open at 8:40). We understand that students sometimes need to be late or have special circumstances, but please try to have your child here on time as it can be distracting when numerous students are coming to class late. Mon - Thurs 8:48 AM - 3:30 PM, Fridays 8:48 AM - 11:55 AM
School Drop-off & Pick-up Reminders
Families are reminded to be cautious during the coming months as it gets colder and darker. Everyone is encouraged to follow the rules of the road, adhere to parking expectations and use crosswalks, particularly in and around school zones. Traffic safety is a shared responsibility that requires the support and cooperation of all drivers and pedestrians.
Students should also be prepared for changing weather conditions and families using transportation are encouraged to have a back-up plan in the event of delayed buses
Upcoming School Conferences
Please make sure you have access to your Parent MyCBE account to sign up for school conferences when booking opens online Nov 21. Conferences will be held Nov 26 (evening) and Nov 27 (morning). If you do not have a MyCBE account you must set one up. Please go to Home - Calgary Board of Education to get started. We will send out more details when the conference dates get closer.
